Important reminder for Nevada's CD2 Voters
The Primary is NOW. Take the time to know ALL the candidates
With Mark Amodei’s retirement we have an historic opportunity to get a member of Congress who is responsive to Northern Nevadans. Winning the votes of rural voters and disaffected registered voters is of great importance. So is the commitment to put Nevadans’ interests over donor and corporate interests and to hold the regime accountable for their authoritarian actions. Below is information on the candidates that Indivisible Carson City (INVCC) believes best suit these goals. We respect your decision if, after conducting your own research, you reach a different conclusion for the primaries. After that, we’ll all pull together and support the candidate selected by the voters.
INVCC recommends two progressive candidates for Congressional District 02. Please give serious consideration to Democratic candidates Kathy Durham or Teresa Benitez Thompson, both long time Nevadans who know and understand the people, issues, and differences within our district. They’ll work for us!Kathy Durham has a long history of living and working in rural Nevada and has name recognition in those communities. She does not accept political action committee (PAC) money and is accountable to the people, not to donors.
Teresa Benitez Thompson is a seasoned state legislator who, if elected, will hit the ground running. Her experience working in our rural areas informs her understanding of the variety of needs throughout the district.
REMINDER: Josh Hebert and Samuel White, two of the CD2 candidates that will appear on your ballot suspended their campaigns earlier this month. Susan Broili Kamesch, one of two Democrats running in the primary for Washoe County Commission District 2, has also ended her race for that seat.1
